UNIMUH Makassar Provides Agri Business Students with Internship and Professional Certification Introduction
UNISMUH.AC.ID, Makassar - The Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) in Makassar held a pre-internship training for students in the Faculty of Agriculture, particularly the Agribusiness Program, along with the socialization of the Unismuh Makassar Professional Certification Institute (LSP), student organization officer inauguration, upgrades, and a working meeting. The event took place in the 6th Floor Auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture at Unismuh Makassar on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
This training was intended for students who will participate in an internship program from February 2 to March 14, 2026, in various locations, including Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Maros Regency, Makassar, Gowa, and Takalar. The program is part of the faculty's effort to prepare students for the workforce and broaden their practical experience.
Hidayat Nur Ababil, Chairman of the Agribusiness Student Association (HMJ) for the 2025/2026 period, in his speech, emphasized that internships are a strategic position in the learning process for students. According to him, internships are not just an academic obligation, but also a space for realizing knowledge and strengthening professional networks.
"Internships provide students with an important opportunity to test the theories they have learned in the classroom and also to directly understand the dynamics of the working world," he said.
The opening speech was delivered by Diva Resky Asyaitum, Chairman of the Agribusiness HMJ for the 2026/2027 period. She encouraged students to participate in internships with commitment and responsibility, and to utilize their experiences to improve themselves. Diva believes that internship programs can be a means to strengthen the personal and professional capacity of students in the face of increasingly competitive working conditions.
Meanwhile, Rilian Cahya Mutmainnah, Chairman of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Executive Board (BEM), emphasized the importance of innovation and adaptability among students. She hopes that the internship participants will be able to maintain the reputation of the institution and demonstrate their best competencies during their internship period.
Muh. Ikmal Saleh, S.P., M.Si., Chairman of the Agribusiness Program, stated that internships are a bridge between theoretical learning and practical experience. He hopes that students can maximize this program as a preparation for meeting the demands of the continuously evolving industry.
"Practical experience is an important asset for students to be more prepared and relevant to the demands of the working world," he said.
The event was officially opened by Dr. Ir. Andi Khaeriyah, M.Pd., IPU, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Unismuh Makassar. In her speech, she appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and reaffirmed the faculty's commitment to preparing competent and competitive graduates. According to her, internships and professional certification are important instruments in expanding the knowledge and skills of students.
The event also included the inauguration of student organization officers, upgrades, and working meetings to refine future programs. In addition, the Unismuh Makassar Professional Certification Institute (LSP) provided socialization regarding professional certification opportunities for students as an effort to improve the qualifications and competitiveness of graduates in the job market.
