Lectures and Academic Dialogue, Rector of Unismuh Emphasizes the Importance of Synergy in Fulfilling Responsibilities

Makassar — The Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar, held a Dialogue and Academic Seminar as a momentum to strengthen the spirit, motivation, and synergy of the academic community in fulfilling institutional mandates. The event featured Rector of Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Ir. H. Abd. Rakhim Nanda, S.T., M.T., IPU, as a speaker.

The event took place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 6th Floor of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar. The event was attended by faculty leaders, heads of study programs, lecturers, staff, and employees of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Ir. Hj. Andi Khaeriyah, M.Pd., IPU, in her speech, stated that the seminar was part of the faculty's efforts to maintain the motivation and work spirit of the entire academic community.

According to her, this spirit is important to ensure that the various strategic agendas programmed by Muhammadiyah University, Makassar can be implemented well.

“This seminar is part of the effort to maintain the motivation and work spirit of the Faculty of Agriculture in order to successfully implement the strategic agendas programmed by Muhammadiyah University, Makassar,” she said.

Embodying Mandate with Missionary Spirit

In this context, the Rector of Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Ir. Abd. Rahim Nanda, emphasized that every mandate carried out in the campus environment must be based on the principle of Muhammadiyah's preaching.

He encouraged all the academic community to interpret work not only as a professional task, but also as an effort to help the religion of Allah SWT.

According to him, when a mandate is carried out with the right intention to help the religion of Allah SWT, then Allah's help and grace will accompany every effort.

“When carrying out a mandate in Unismuh Makassar, it must be based on the principle of Muhammadiyah preaching, which is intended to help the religion of Allah SWT. If we work with the intention of helping the religion of Allah SWT, then Allah will help and give His grace and assistance to us,” he explained.

The Rector also revealed several concrete steps taken by Unismuh Makassar as a form of implementing the values of preaching and social care. One of them is providing assistance to students from Flores, NTT who are affected by the earthquake through the policy of waiving tuition fees.

In addition, the medical team of Unismuh Makassar, which is part of Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC), also participated in providing assistance to communities affected by the earthquake.

He then reminded all the academic community regarding the words of Allah SWT in Q.S. Muhammad ayat 7:

“O you who believe, if you help the religion of Allah, He will help you and strengthen your position.”

Strengthen Synergy for Faculty Achievement

At the end of his presentation, the Rector of Unismuh Makassar emphasized the importance of maintaining synergy and collaboration in carrying out every mandate in the university environment.

This message is relevant to the Faculty of Agriculture, which continues to promote the quality of academic, student achievements, as well as the faculty's contribution in supporting the strategic agendas of Muhammadiyah University, Makassar.

In line with this, the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, is committed to continuously improving academic achievement and student achievements through good synergy and cooperation between faculty leaders, study programs, lecturers, and all the academic community.

Through this seminar and dialogue, the Faculty of Agriculture not only builds a professional spirit in working, but also strengthens Islamic values and Muhammadiyah preaching as a foundation in fulfilling higher education mandates.

With the spirit of synergy, collaboration, and dedication, the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar is expected to be able to produce excellent human resources as well as provide real contributions to the organization, society, nation, and country.
