HIMAGRI CUP 2025: Exciting and Innovative Competition Begins at the Faculty of Agriculture

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Faculty of Agriculture of Muhammadiyah University Makassar (Faculty of Agriculture Unismuh Makassar) officially opened the HIMAGRI CUP 2025, which features the theme "United in Sport, Growing in Achievement", on Monday, December 8, 2025. The event was held in the 6th Floor Iqra Tower of Unismuh Makassar. The event serves as a platform for developing student potential, sportsmanship, and creativity.

HIMAGRI CUP 2025 is organized by the Student Association of Agribusiness (HIMAGRI) and will take place from December 8–14, 2025. This year, the event features five faculty-level competitions and one national-level competition, namely essay writing, futsal, badminton, graphic design, and e-sports Mobile Legends, as well as study program promotional videos.

The essay writing competition is the main highlight this year, with participants from various universities in Indonesia. The competition features the theme "Innovation and Transformation of Agrocomplex Towards Sustainable Agriculture in the Digital Era," aimed at fostering new ideas in modern agricultural development.

The opening ceremony was vibrant, attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Head of the Agribusiness Study Program, faculty internal institutions such as PIKOM IMM, BEM FP, HIMAGRI, HMK, HIMAGRO, and HIMARIN, as well as participants from all competition branches.

The Chairman of the HIMAGRI CUP 2025 Committee, Diva Resky Asyaitum, in his speech, emphasized that all activities will be held in a hybrid format. "The event will take place in several locations such as Super Futsal, Unismuh Makassar GOR, 6th Floor of the Faculty of Agriculture, as well as through a Zoom specifically for essay writing finalists," he said.

He also added that the hybrid format allows participants from various regions to participate without obstacles. The committee wants HIMAGRI CUP to be more inclusive and provide a wider scope of collaboration.

The Chairman of HIMAGRI, Hidayat Nur Ababil, emphasized that this is an annual tradition that continues to be strengthened. "HIMAGRI CUP is not just a competition, but a platform for expressing creativity, improving sportsmanship, and strengthening student bonds in the Faculty of Agriculture," he said in his speech.

Hidayat also expressed the hope that participants will uphold positive values during the competition. He emphasized that HIMAGRI CUP is expected to produce creative, innovative, and ready-to-face-future students—a message that was later echoed in various opening sessions.

The Chairman of the Faculty of Agriculture BEM, Rilian Cahyani, stated that HIMAGRI CUP is a testament to the faculty's commitment to developing students' soft skills. She said that the event not only sharpens competencies but also strengthens student solidarity. According to her, students need to utilize the competition as a means of improving themselves.

Support was also given by the Chairman of the Agribusiness Study Program, Muh. Ikmal Saleh, S.P., M.Si. He said that competitions like HIMAGRI CUP provide a wide opportunity for students to explore potential, work together, and innovate. Ikmal emphasized that each competition contains relevant learning values for the development of agricultural students' characters.

Similar appreciation came from the Deputy Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Muhamad Ikbal, S.Pi., M.Si., IPM, representing the Dean. He said that HIMAGRI CUP reflects the students' spirit to develop not only academically but also through creativity and sportsmanship. He hopes that the event will be a platform for showcasing the quality of students in the Faculty of Agriculture in various fields.

In addition, other leaders such as Deputy Dean I Dr. Nadir, S.P., M.Si., Deputy Dean II Dr. Ir. Hikmah, S.Hut., M.Hut., IPM, and Deputy Dean IV Dr. Ir. Nurdin, M.M. also provided full support for the implementation of this annual event.

HIMAGRI CUP 2025 is expected not only to be a competition platform but also to give birth to new ideas that can strengthen the development of the Faculty of Agriculture in the future. The event is a momentum to strengthen collaboration and foster a spirit of achievement for all students.
