Unismuh Makassar Students Participate in International Internship in Japan

UNISMUH.AC.ID, Makassar — The Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) of Muhammadiyah University Unismuh Makassar once again demonstrates its commitment to enhancing human resources through international programs. The best student from the faculty has officially departed for a Japan International Internship in forestry.

The farewell ceremony was held at the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The event was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, and academic staff.

This international internship program is part of an effort to strengthen students' global competencies and provide practical experience in the international workplace.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Andi Khaeriyah, M.Pd., IPU, along with the faculty leadership, expressed appreciation and support for the selected student. He hopes that this program will provide direct learning about modern forestry technology, management, and practices in Japan.

"Through this program, students are expected to represent the university and expand their international knowledge and network," he said.

The student participating in the program is expected to absorb knowledge and experience during their time in Japan and apply them in the development of the agricultural and forestry sectors in Indonesia, particularly in South Sulawesi.

Furthermore, the program is considered a strategic step for the faculty to expand international cooperation. The Faculty of Agriculture Unismuh Makassar continues to encourage students to compete globally through various student exchange, international internships, and cross-country academic collaborations.

The Japan International Internship program is scheduled to begin in early March 2026 and is expected to provide valuable experience for students and contribute positively to the development of sustainable agriculture and forestry.
