Promote Local Business Legality, Unismuh Students' Posko 08 Support Ant Hill Sugar Farmers Group in Libureng to Obtain NIB

Barru — Students from the Professional Work Program (KKP) at Posko 08 of the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (Unismuh, Faculty of Agriculture), are actively supporting the strengthening of local businesses through assistance in obtaining Business Identification Numbers (NIBs) for sugar ant farmers in the village of Libureng. This activity, which took place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, is one way for students to contribute to helping the community improve their legal status and develop businesses based on local potential.

The assistance was provided by Ismail, the head of the farmers' group, in response to the need for legal business status among sugar ant producers. During this activity, the KKP Posko 08 students from the Faculty of Agriculture at Unismuh provided information about the importance of NIBs as official business identification and their benefits in supporting the sustainability and development of local businesses.

In carrying out the activity, the students not only provided socialization but also directly assisted the farmers' group in the process of obtaining NIBs. The assistance involved providing guidance on the necessary data, helping with data entry, and assisting at each stage of the application process.

Ismail, the head of the farmers' group, expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the KKP Posko 08 students.

"This assistance has been very helpful to us, especially in the process of obtaining NIBs. We hope that with a clear business legal status, the sugar ant products that we produce can develop further and have wider marketing opportunities. Thank you to the KKP Posko 08 students for helping and assisting us," said Ismail.

Sugar ants are one of the products with the potential to be developed as a leading product for the people of Libureng village. However, business development requires not only improved product quality and marketing, but also a clear business legal status. Therefore, the NIB assistance is expected to be one of the initial steps for farmers to develop their businesses more effectively.

For the Faculty of Agriculture students at Unismuh, this activity is also an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained during their studies in community life. The direct involvement of students is expected to provide them with experience in understanding the conditions, potential, and needs of businesses in rural areas.

Through this assistance program, the KKP Posko 08 students hope that the sugar ant farmers will be even more motivated to develop their businesses, improve product competitiveness, and open up wider marketing opportunities. The possession of NIBs is expected to provide a stronger foundation for farmers to develop their businesses and increase the economic value of sugar ant products.

This activity is one of the practical implementations of the KKP program by the Faculty of Agriculture at the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar in building synergy with the community through programs that are designed based on the needs and potential in the village of Libureng.
