106 Unismuh Faculty Students Complete Community Service in Jeneponto

UNISMUH.AC.ID, Jeneponto — A total of 106 students from the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) of Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar have been officially accepted by the Jeneponto Regency Government to participate in the 2025/2026 Professional Community Service (KKP) program. The acceptance ceremony took place in the Aula of the Jeneponto Regent's Office, Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The acceptance was attended by Jeneponto Regent, Islam Iskandar, SH, along with officials from the kecamatan and desa of Turatea, Binamu, and Rumbia.

In his address, Regent Islam Iskandar expressed his appreciation and welcomed all KKP participants. He emphasized that the presence of students in the community is not only for learning, but also to serve as a strategic partner for the government and the community.

"KKP students are not only here to learn, but also to be a bridge for the intellectual development of the community in promoting sustainable agriculture," said Islam Iskandar.

This KKP program will last for two months, from August 12 to October 12, 2025. The focus of the activities includes strengthening the capacity of farmers, implementing agricultural technology innovations, and supporting food security programs in villages.

From the Faculty of Agriculture at Unismuh, the faculty and program leaders were present, including Vice Dean I, Dr. Nadir, M.Si.; Vice Dean II, Dr. Ir. Hikmah, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM; Vice Dean III, Ir. Muhamad Ikbal, S.Pi., M.Si., IPM; and Vice Dean IV, Dr. Ir. Nurdin, MM. Also present were the head of the Agrotechnology Study Program, Dr. Ir. Rosannah, MP; the secretary of the Agribusiness Study Program, Muh. Ikmal Saleh, SP., M.Si.; and the secretary of the Forestry Study Program, Ir. Jauhar Mukti, S.Hut., M.Hut.

Camat from the three kecamatan locations of the KKP were present along with the village heads, emphasizing the commitment to cooperation between the local government, village officials, and universities for the smooth implementation of the program.

According to the Regent, this synergy provides an opportunity to accelerate the application of agricultural innovations at the village level. He hopes that students will identify problems in the field and offer solutions based on research.

The faculty stated that KKP is an integral part of the curriculum, designed to provide students with practical experience and strengthen their social skills. The program is also expected to expand Unismuh's collaboration with local governments.

With the spirit of collaboration that has been established, the 2025/2026 KKP activities of the Faculty of Agriculture are expected to provide sustainable benefits for the people of Jeneponto, as well as being a valuable experience for students before entering the workforce.
