Unismuh's Agrotechnology Program Strengthens Efforts Towards Excellent Accreditation in Field Assessment by BAN-PT

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Bachelor of Agrotechnology Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah (with a link to Unismuh in Makassar, presented its performance achievements, infrastructure improvements, and accreditation document updates during a field assessment by BAN-PT, held in the Faculty of Agriculture building, Iqra Building, Floor 6, Unismuh Makassar Campus, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

This event served as a strategic platform for the Agrotechnology Program to demonstrate its readiness for a superior accreditation, while also ensuring that accreditation data aligns with the current on-site conditions.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Andi Khaeriyah, stated that the Agrotechnology Program's accreditation process is fully supported by the faculty's governance ecosystem, from leadership structure, quality assurance units, laboratory heads, to the integrated SIMAK academic information system.

Dr. Ir. Rosanna, M.P., Head of the Agrotechnology Program, also presented the technical aspects that are the focus of the assessment, including program data dynamics, curriculum achievements, student academic progress, and ongoing quality strengthening efforts.

Two BAN-PT assessors, Prof. Totok Agung Dwi Haryanto (Universitas Jenderal Soedirman) and Prof. Hadiwiyono (Universitas Sebelas Maret), conducted in-depth document review and on-site condition checks. They provided positive feedback on the Agrotechnology Program's preparedness, particularly regarding data transparency, infrastructure improvements, and a stronger governance commitment.

Prof. Totok appreciated the updated facilities and the alignment of accreditation data with the latest conditions. Prof. Hadiwiyono emphasized the importance of consistent quality improvement. He urged that existing achievements be strengthened through sustainable programs and recognition, including international networks and recognition.

During the assessment presentation, it was explained that the Agrotechnology Program previously achieved a "Good" accreditation in 2021, partly due to limited alumni data as one of the specific requirements. This situation has now been addressed: alumni data is complete and strengthened by improved performance, making the program aim for a "Superior" accreditation.

In terms of partnerships, the Faculty of Agriculture has recorded 24 local, 98 national, and 38 international collaborations. Specifically for the Agrotechnology Program, there are 7 local, 9 national, and 16 international collaborations as an academic network and support for the three pillars of higher education.

Regarding human resources, 69% of lecturers hold doctoral degrees, with 10 doctoral graduates and 1 master's degree as the main lecturers in the program. Academic output from the program (within the faculty) includes 31 research, 22 community service, 80 publications, 16 intellectual property rights, and 10 books. For student contributions in the Agrotechnology Program, there are 2 intellectual property rights and 21 publications, along with improved academic and non-academic achievements.

Infrastructure

Strengthening infrastructure was highlighted as a key aspect of the assessment. The Agrotechnology Program presented support for facilities such as air-conditioned lecture halls, wet and dry laboratories, computer laboratories, Dream House and Business Incubator, faculty library, and a 200-hectare educational area as a basis for practical, applied research, and field learning.

In addition, financial management was also presented, starting from program development at the program level, applications to the faculty, discussions at the university level, and evaluation by the SPI and external auditors.

Optimism for Agrotechnology Program Towards Superiority

This field assessment reinforces the position of the Agrotechnology Program at Unismuh Makassar as a program that is strengthening its quality leap: ensuring accurate data, proving updated facilities, and showcasing solid performance and governance. The faculty is optimistic that all achievements and field verification will be a strong foundation for the Agrotechnology Program to achieve a "Superior" accreditation.
