Unismuh Makassar Agribusiness Program Holds Outcome-Based Education Curriculum Review Workshop

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR – The Agribusiness Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, officially held a strategic academic agenda titled "Workshop on Reviewing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum". The two-day event, which took place consecutively from Thursday-Friday, July 9-10, 2026, was held in the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) 6th Floor, Menara Unismuh Makassar Building, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

This workshop was organized to adapt the education system that focuses on learning outcomes and deliverables, in order to produce competent, globally competitive agribusiness graduates that are relevant to the needs of the current industry. The event was attended by faculty leaders, all lecturers of the Agribusiness Program, student representatives, as well as key stakeholders and alumni.

The event was officially opened by Dr. Nadir, S.P., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. In his speech, he emphasized that the curriculum reconstruction towards OBE is a necessity for continuous institutional improvement.

"This OBE curriculum review is an important tool for us at the Faculty of Agriculture, especially the Agribusiness Program, to ensure that the competencies obtained by students during their studies are truly measurable and in accordance with the needs of the business and industry (DUDI). We want to ensure that our graduates are ready to work and can make a real impact from the first day they graduate," said Dr. Nadir.

Muh. Ikmal Saleh, S.P., M.P., Head of the Agribusiness Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, in his speech, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all parties who had dedicated their time to overseeing this curriculum transformation. He emphasized that the presence of alumni and stakeholders is the key to ensuring that the new curriculum has strong alignment with the realities of the workplace.

On the first day (Session 1), the workshop featured leading curriculum expert, Dr. Ir. Mais Ilsan, M.P., as the main speaker. He presented comprehensive material on the basic concepts, urgency, and tactical strategies for implementing OBE-based curricula at the program level.

Continuing the agenda on the second day, Friday (07/10), the discussion moved towards more technical and adaptive areas, namely the application of Micro Credentials on OBE-based Curriculum and OBE-based Learning Analysis.

In this session, input, evaluations, and critical perspectives from stakeholders and alumni were gathered together with lecturers to develop a fresh, visionary, and responsive agribusiness curriculum that responds to the development of modern agricultural and agribusiness technology.

With the successful implementation of this workshop, the Agribusiness Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar is optimistic that it can continue to maintain "Excellent" academic standards and produce excellent agribusiness entrepreneurs and professionals in the future.
