Himagri Unismuh Makassar Combines Business Expo and Nature Contemplation
UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Agribusiness Student Association (Himagri) of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, held a series of Business Innovation Expo and Natural Reflection 2025, Monday, June 29, 2026.
The event, which lasted until July 4, 2026, provided a space for student entrepreneurship, leadership, and character development.
The opening ceremony took place in the Faculty of Agriculture Hall, 6th Floor Iqra Tower, Unismuh Makassar Campus. The event was themed "The Pioneer's Journey: Cultivating Leadership to Realize an Inclusive Himagri".
The Business Innovation Expo was the output of the Agripreneurship course. In this activity, students showcased various innovative products together with micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. Meanwhile, the Natural Reflection was designed as a space for spiritual, leadership, and strengthening the solidarity of new Agribusiness 2025 students.
Entrepreneurship Learning Space
The Chairman of the Committee, Miftahul Khair, said that the implementation of these two agendas was an effort to provide students with a more holistic learning experience. According to him, students are not only expected to understand the theory, but also to have direct experience in developing ideas, working together, and building character.
He said that the collaboration between the business expo and natural reflection is expected to strengthen students' academic, entrepreneurial, and spiritual values equally.
The Chairman of Himagri of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, Diva Risky Asyaitum, together with the Chairman of the Faculty of Agriculture BEM, Farhan Fadlurrahman Has, invited 2025 students to take on the role of pioneers. They hoped that the new students would be able to build an inclusive, open, and adaptable organization to the times.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, Muh. Ikmal Saleh, S.P., M.Si., emphasized the importance of agricultural innovation downstream through business development. According to him, agribusiness students need to be able to transform ideas into products with added value and competitiveness.
"Through this Business Innovation Expo, we want to see the emergence of creative ideas and innovative products that can compete in the modern market. This is the first step for students to learn independently and become potential job creators," said Ikmal.
Leadership and Character
Dr. Ir. Hj. Andi Khaeriyah, M.Pd., IPU., opened the event officially. She appreciated Himagri's initiative in strengthening entrepreneurial competence with character development through Natural Reflection.
According to her, student leadership is not only formed through the classroom or business activities. Leadership also needs to be supported by integrity, social sensitivity, gratitude, and closeness to spiritual values.
Therefore, the Natural Reflection is expected to be a means for students to strengthen their character, build solidarity, and cultivate awareness that knowledge and skills need to be directed to benefit society.
After the opening, the event continued with a "Optimalization of Student Creativity and Innovation in Building a Competitive Entrepreneurial Spirit through Business Innovation Expo" Entrepreneurship Seminar.
The seminar was attended by Fitra Ariansyah, S.TP., M.Si., who is an Industry Supervisor, Chair of the Diklat Training Team, and also a Certification Manager of LSP. He explained the importance of product standardization, competence certification, and industry opportunity reading for young entrepreneurs.
Another speaker, Dr. Ir. Akbar, S.P., M.Si., IPM., QPOA., a lecturer at the Agribusiness Program, Unismuh Makassar, discussed strategies for building an entrepreneurial mindset based on local agricultural potential to compete in the digital era. The discussion was moderated by Lasarus Ngari, S.P., a Master's student in Agribusiness at Hasanuddin University Postgraduate School.
During the three-day event, the Business Innovation Expo was held in the area of Bundaran Air Mancur, Unismuh Makassar Campus. The event featured innovative products from students and SMEs.
Through these activities, the Himagri of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unismuh Makassar, aims to produce outstanding agribusiness students academically, adapt to entrepreneurship, and have leadership based on spiritual values.
