Unismuh Makassar, Faculty of Agriculture, Holds Professional Work Lectures, Strengthening Student Competencies and Professional Ethics

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR — The Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar held a pre-training for Community Service Programs (KKP) and officially released 106 students to begin their program in Jeneponto Regency on Monday, August 11, 2025.

The KKP participants consist of 62 students from the Agribusiness Program, 29 students from the Forestry Program, 9 students from the Aquaculture Cultivation Program, and 6 students from the Agrotechnology Program. They will be placed in three sub-districts, namely Rumbia, Turatea, and Binamu.

This placement is designed to allow students to learn directly from the field dynamics, interact with the community, and apply interdisciplinary knowledge that they have learned in college.

Also present at the event were Dean of Faperta, Dr. Ir. Andi Khaeriyah, M.Pd., IPU; Deputy Dean I, Dr. Nadir, M.Si.; Deputy Dean II, Dr. Ir. Hikmah, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM; Deputy Dean III, Ir. Muhamad Ikbal, S.Pi., M.Si., IPM; and Deputy Dean IV, Dr. Ir. Nurdin, MM. Present were also the heads of programs, chairpersons and secretaries of the Quality Control Group (GKM), and field supervisors.

In his speech, Dean of Faperta Unismuh Makassar, Dr. Andi Khaeriyah emphasized the importance of maintaining the reputation of the university in the community. He reminded students to prioritize integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and concern, and to develop programs according to their respective disciplines.

"Maintain regular communication with field supervisors to ensure the smooth implementation of the KKP program," he said.

The deputy deans equipped the students with materials related to regulations, work ethics and communication with stakeholders at the sub-district and village levels, program planning, monitoring mechanisms, and reporting. The training also included explanations of the KKP guidelines, logbook usage, final report preparation, as well as seminar plans.

Faperta hopes that through this KKP program, students will not only hone their professional skills but also provide real contributions in solving problems in the field and strengthen partnerships with local communities.
